Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born as the only children of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the world of show business early, and ended up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she turned 16. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominees featuring models. Alexandra is associated with numerous notable projects, both nationally as well as internationally. Some of these include the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
